The World Wildlife Foundation puts out several lovely animal calendars each year to give us insight into the wildlife in our world. The beautiful 2016 WWF Owls Deluxe Wall Calendar is only one of the collection for 2016.
By purchasing this calendar or any of the others, you will be donating money towards the WWF. This money goes toward keeping endangered animals from becoming extinct.
After more than 200 million years of existence, six of the seven species of sea turtle are listed on the IUCN Red List as Endangered or Critically Endangered. As soon as they hatch, they must run for their lives in a mad dash for the sea. Having reached the water, they are at risk from predators, over-harvesting, and increasing destruction of their nesting beaches. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is committed to raising awareness and implementing measures to ensure the survival of these ancient marine reptiles. In the U.S. and Canada, WWF receives 50 cents for each 2014 WWF calendar purchased, with a guaranteed contribution of $50,000.
2016 Hummingbirds WWF Wall Calendar: Many of them named for the jewels they resemble, hummingbirds are truly among nature’s most exquisite creatures. They are unique in the bird kingdom, as they alone can fly backwards. They flit and hover throughout the Americas, as they are able to adapt to a variety of habitats. These tiny, high-energy gems grace every garden they visit with their breathtaking beauty.
2016 Penguins WWF Wall Calendar: Penguins are remarkable creatures that have adapted successfully to some of the harshest environments on earth—the Adelie and the emperor penguins inhabit regions too frigid to support almost any other known life form.
2016 Tigers WWF Wall Calendar: Three tiger subspecies—Javan, Caspian, and Bali—have become extinct in the past 70 years, leaving only six subspecies remaining, all of which live in Asia and are in crisis from habitat loss and hunting.
